A.B.A.C.O. srl, an organizing agency for cultural and artistic heritage,
based in Forlì, Italy. participates as a partner in the T.M.R: Project
1997/2000 on the “Migration and diffusion of hominids and anatomically
modern humans in the Mediterranean in Early Prehistory: palaeoenvironments,
routes, settlements, subsistence” - ERBFMRXCT970102, project coordinated by
the University of Ferrara and financially supported by the E.C.
The research objectives of the joint program to be undertaken by the network
are: to develop the collaboration between the teams whose research is
oriented towards the reconstruction of the various phases of the human
population of the Mediterranean Basin, from its origin to about 5000 years
ago; to promote the training of young researchers in order to increase
scientific and technological knowledge and thus contribute to keeping up the
challenge to scientific institutions outside Europe; to define the
chronology of the natural and anthropic deposits during the Quaternary
period; to define the migration routes followed by the various human types;
to reconstruct the relationship between humans and their environment in the
past in order to interpret the human activities and the response capacities
of the different groups to the various changing situations with which they
came into contact; to define the activities carried out by the human groups
in order to formulate hypotheses about their social organization, he
structure of their groups and their migratory rhythms; and to develop a
relationship with the business world and public administrations in order to
promote a development in museums, archaeological publishing and computing,
conservation and diffusion of knowledge and create employment for young
