Etant parfaitement bilingual, and fluent dans deux other languages, I feel that la question of l'utilisation of English being un racist statement is un peu exagérée, un poco troppo forte. Ceux qui are lucky enough to parler English find life plus facile dans le World scientifique que ceux who don't. Pauvres locuteurs non-English! They have to struggle pour se faire entendre et comprendre anche in their own scientific community (and that goes for France, aussi). Why not bring the whole business down to simply admitting that there is a lingua franca around, at for historical reasons, it's English (until one day it becomes Chinese or Spanish or whatever...), and use that language for what it is, means of communication. I fail to see how écrire un papier scientifique in English (or French, or whatever) is a racist statement. Le français serait donc a racist tool ?
