Chris's approach seems right to me; skill-based and enthusiasm-based, and above all geared to sustainability. Plus, we've got all those unconditional offers of upfront moolah (they're in the archive, you know...) to oil the wheels when/if his cart starts to roll... and as it seems it'll a while before that happens, everyone can splurge on Reality Street, Barque, SVP, Wild Honey et al, and still have time to save for the new venture...
