Hello British poets - If you're interested in Australian poets there are dozens, no, there are hundreds more than the ones already mentioned... You can find most of them on a website called "Ozlit" - http://home.vicnet.net.au/~ozlit/ this site can be accessed from John Tranter's "Jacket" or from my own site which also leads you to "Otis Rush" - "Little Esther"- "overland" magazine etc etc- my site is at http://postbox.library.usyd.edu.au/~pbrown/ I disagree with Anthony Lawrence when he says there are no "clubs" or factions in Oz poetry. There are definitely groups of friends & like-minds which have formed organically around aesthetic, political & stylistic preferences. Although -I wouldn't want to try to map them .... My list of some of theOz poets unmentioned so far begins....Adam Aitken, Dipti Saravanamuttu, Joanne Burns, Philip Salom ,Susan Hampton, Steven K. Kelen, Emma Lew , Hugh Tolhurst, Kerry Leves, Denis Gallagher, Kieran Carroll, Lee Cataldi - well these are just some whose work I have read & liked recently in either magazines or new books - Try "Race Against Time" by Lee Cataldi (Penguin, Aust.) for a section called "scenes from the north"- a percipient perspective on living & working in an Aboriginal community ....
