Dear George, There is an old study, pre-Emile Male for goodness sake, which ought not be consigned to the limbo of unread books: C. Cahier, 'Les caracteristiques des saints dans l'art populaire', 2 vols (Paris, 1862-67); George Kaftal also has reasonable books on Dominic and Catherine of Siena; and as you know, Biblio.
