Dear CAS Friends,

Biotechnology and The Posthuman is the first in a series of Artist Seminars in partnership between Goldsmiths Department of Computing and Lumen Art Projects. This event will feature four Lumen Prize artists who will explore the idea of Posthumanism and biotechnologies as open-ended systems and how this has influenced their practices.

Our speakers:

Christian Mio Loclair – Lumen Prize Shortlist 2019 (Berlin), new media artist and choreographer.

Amanda Baum and Rose Leahy, Baum & Leahy – Lumen Prize Shortlist 2019 (London). Translators of intangible phenomena and complex ecological dynamics into sensorial experiences

Nicola Schauerman, Genetic Moo – Lumen Founders Award 2013 (Margate). Creators of immersive, interactive experiences inspired by popular science and biology for more than 10 years.

Chris Choa, Lumen Board of Advisors, will moderate the event


5:30pm - Doors Open for Artist and Student Demos, Drinks and Networking

6:20pm - Introduction from Carla Rapoport, Lumen Art Projects.

6:30pm - Talks begin

7:10pm - Panel Discussion

7:30pm - Networking

8:00pm - Finish

The seminar will take place in the Professor Stuart Hall Building LG0, shorthand for the room is: PSH LG0. The venue is a 7 minute walk from New Cross Station.
