Please see the notice below for a vacancy for a curator in the Contemporary Conflict team at Imperial War Museums London. The application deadline has been extended to noon on Tuesday 18 February and may suit someone with experience of sound archives especially.

Curator – Contemporary (Post-2001) Conflict

This London based curatorial role, with a specialism in documents and sound media, sits within the Contemporary Conflict team. This is one of four curatorial teams whose key role is to create and develop the collection, provide content for our public programme and interpret objects which fall within that time period (2001 – to date). The team facilitates and supports access to our collection, knowledge and skills both to our audiences and to colleagues across IWM. You will need to work proactively and imaginatively to find ways to develop our collection. This may involve working with those directly involved with recent or ongoing conflicts and with external partners. Working with contemporary material can be complex and challenging but is also engaging and rewarding. Our collecting efforts and relationship building will be vital for the future success of the museum.
