Hello everyone,
I would just like to share the opportunity below with anyone that would be interested in attending - feel free to share with others!
Do you want people to be more connected and less divided? On November 16th, join Xenia for a workshop exploring how you can make the change you want to see in your community. Book your place here!
Xenia brings together women from all cultures and backgrounds to connect with each other, share experiences, and practise English through creative workshops. We run weekly workshops based at Hackney Museum, to which we welcome English-learning women and English-speaking women to connect and create together- including native English speakers, migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. Each week there is a theme: often we interact with the museum's exhibitions and collections, other times we lead discussions or take part in creative activities. We have been running workshops since 2016 and our work has been recognised by the British Academy as an example of best practice in integration.
We now want to share Xenia's model to inform practice and support you to hold your own experiment in your local community - inspired by what we've already learned about what can really work. In particular, we're looking to reach out to museums who are interested in welcoming diverse residents to their spaces and becoming places which foster inclusion and community creation.
Anyone who is interested in finding out more about the Xenia model is welcome to attend a free workshop on
Saturday 16th of November, 2.30-5.30pm at Amnesty International in Shoreditch -
