Hi all,

One week to go to until our first GEM London training event of the Autumn. Book your free place today.

GEM London: Breakfast training event

Family learning on the HMS Belfast

Thursday 31st October 2019, 9.00 – 11.00am

Earlier this year, IWM launched Family Mission: D-Day edition at two of their sites, HMS Belfast and IWM Duxford. The activity was launched to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings, but with the conflict disappearing from living memory and no longer on the Primary curriculum, engaging families with this subject matter was a challenge.

The Public Engagement and Learning team at IWM will share how they approached the subject matter, using a narrative approach to tackle this difficult topic sensitively. Hear about the development process, working with project partners, how the activities were run, and feedback from families, then have a go exploring the ship yourself!

Tea, coffee and pastries will be provided.

This is a free event with limited capacity. If you book a place and are unable to attend please cancel your booking.

Best wishes,
