His work on the social implications of the life sciences have advanced social theory, particularly debates on governmentality and biopolitics. The author and editor of more than fifteen books, including the ground-breaking *Biopolitics: An Advanced Introduction*, Prof Lemke’s work has been translated into Danish, Dutch, English, Korean, Polish, Portuguese and Turkish.
