FEATURED - ALT Annual Conference 2019

The ALT Annual Conference takes place this week in Edinburgh, with a packed academic and social programme. Even if you are not able to attend you can explore the conference programme and find out about remote participation. ALT Members can use your account to log in to the conference site to comment on sessions or you can also contribute to the conference hashtag #altc.

WAVES Toolkit Webinar, 15:00 - 16:00 BST, 20th September 2019

Take the opportunity to enhance your knowledge and creation technique for scenario-based learning, by joining our webinar on 20th September. This webinar will assist your learning in what tools and resources are readily available for you to formulate your own virtual scenario. We’ll give you expert knowledge on the WAVES tool-kits with our very own WAVES gurus, discussing the two strands of toolkits: the knowledge tool-kit, developed to help educators and educator designers, author virtual scenarios, and technical tool-kit for learning technologist who wish to learn about implementing the software and learning environments together.

The webinar will be an opportunity for you to ask further questions and also shape the future of the toolkit, by suggesting other resources you feel may be required to create and implement a virtual scenario.

Using Virtual Scenarios to Create Effective Learning MOOC

Our virtual scenarios MOOC promises to engage learners in successfully developing a scenario of their very own. Whether you're a teacher wanting to explore a new teaching strategy, or a professional looking to deal with a range of workplace challenges. This MOOC can help you explore this technology.

After three very successful runs the range and reach of our shared knowledge on virtual scenarios from the MOOC has levelled to new heights. More than 700 enrolled users from across the globe have chosen to learn how to plan and create their very own virtual scenario,and gain theory based information from the experts.

Research participation invitation - IBSTPI Instructor Competencies validation study - Online, F2F, and blended

The International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction (IBSTPI) is updating its previously validated and published Instructor Competencies (2004). Last year, we began our initial validation study; we now are seeking additional responses. If you have instructor responsibilities and/or manage other staff with such responsibilities, we would be grateful for your participation, which should take approximately 30 minutes. Those who complete the survey before the deadline of September 30, 2019 can enter a drawing for a chance to win one of 10 complete sets of the IBSTPI competencies and performance statements.
