Apologies, returning from my holiday today and in my haste to get the info out about extending the call….

The keynote line up is not complete and the MECCSA network panel will have the status of a keynote, we are just waiting on the final details of that. It should have been positioned more prominently in the update, and will be in due course.

Subject: Media Education Summit

Dear Julian

I'm confused. A summit on Media Education, Diversity and Voice has no BAME keynotes and no platform for their voice. An all white line-up of keynotes

to speak on diversity? Presumably on behalf of BAME's? Is this 21st century media education? Whatever happened to decolonising the curriculum? We the academy need to take a deep, hard look at our exclusionary practices and unconscious bias. MeCCSA needs more inclusive guidelines on organising keynotes.

Best

Dr Anita Howarth
