Three-day course on the statistical methods and techniques used for analyzing intensive longitudinal data as collected in studies using the experience sampling method (ESM), ecological momentary assessment (EMA), and related techniques, covering the following topics:

* brief introduction to ESM/EMA and related methods
* data structures that arise from such studies
* data checking/preparation and visualization
* multilevel (mixed-effects) models with random intercepts
* models with random intercepts and slopes
* models that allow for serial/autocorrelation
* models with more than two levels
* methods for checking model assumptions
* methods for model selection, model comparison, and testing
* models for analyzing dichotomous, multinomial, and ordinal outcomes
* psychometrics (reliability, validity, factor analysis with ESM/EMA data)
* power analysis and sample size planning
* some miscellaneous / advanced topics

The course is aimed at researchers, (Master and PhD level) students, data analysts/scientists, and essentially anybody interested in learning how to analyze intensive longitudinal data. A mixture of lectures and hands-on exercises are used that provide ample opportunities for practicing the concepts taught.
