medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
The Bibliographic Standards Committee of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (RBMS) of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) has charged a Review Group to evaluate the revision or integration of two current cataloging manuals, Descriptive Cataloging of Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance, and Early Modern Manuscripts (AMREMM) and Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Manuscripts) (DCRM(MSS)).
As part of the review, the Review Group is seeking to learn what the data needs are of users searching for or researching single item manuscripts of any time period.
We cordially invite you to take the survey if you search for or describe single item manuscripts in any way. Those invited include researchers, faculty members, independent scholars, graduate and undergraduate students, catalogers, archivists, metadata specialists, curators, other librarians, and others who research or work with manuscripts.
The survey should take 10 to 15 minutes, and can be found here: https://forms.gle/RzERYUbkirFV7Y1n8
Please respond by 12:00 midnight (EST) on July 9, 2019. Your response will help us make catalog records for manuscripts more useful and accessible. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer MacDonald at [log in to unmask]. Thank you in advance for your time.
