Good morning colleagues and apologies if this is of no interest. As a disability practitioner, I am a huge fan of UDL and am delighted my colleague Nicole is providing a free webinar next Friday. I have put a brief description of UDL and a hyperlink for  more information.

I hope some of you will join me.

Regards

Melanie

I wanted to share this webinar I’m hosting that I thought may be of interest to this forum. The webinar, ‘Transforming teaching and learning in higher education’, will take place on Friday 21st June at 2pm.

I’ll be joined by a panel of experts, Director of Teaching and Learning at De Montfort University, Dr Abigail Moriarty and Curriculum and Design Specialist at CAST, Allison Posey, to discover how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) can have a transformational effect within your university.

If you’re free to attend, I would love you to join me. Simply click here to sign up. If you are unable to attend, you can still register and you will receive a recording of the webinar after.

Kind Regards,

Nicole Reid
Higher Education Manager

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

The principle of UDL recognises that learning variability is the rule rather than the exception, and as such can be considered to be good teaching practise. At the core of UDL is the principle of providing multi- modal opportunities in terms of representation, engagement and expression – Office for Students  (2017) https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/587221/Inclusive_Teaching_and_Learning_in_Higher_Education_as_a_route_to-excellence.pdf
