Dear All,

Each summer the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS)<> provides a science communication experience to undergraduate students based within the Grants, Engagement and Communications (GECo) team at the LMS. We particularly encourage applications from students who are interested in a future career in science communication. The deadline for the LMS Science Communication Summer Studentship this year is Sunday 24 March 23:59 GMT.

Do you have an interest in science communication and/or public engagement and outreach? Do you want to gain skills and experience engaging different audiences with research? The science communication studentship at the LMS will provide you with the opportunity to work on internal and external communications for the Institute, and the chance to support events and projects of varying scale and nature that engage and involve the public with our research.

To apply for this studentship please download the application form from and email to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> by the deadline date of Sunday 24 March 23:59 GMT, with the subject title: ‘Undergraduate Summer Programme – Science Communication Application’.

Referees will only be contacted if your application is shortlisted.

Please note the following:

  * Only undergraduate UK/EU students in the middle years of their undergraduate degree are eligible to apply. Students who have completed their final year or are yet to commence their first year will not be accepted.
  * Unfortunately, due to time restrictions, we are unable to accept students who require a visa application to join the programme for the summer period.
  * The programme will run for eight weeks across the months of July & August. All students must participate for the full eight weeks.
  * The studentship includes a stipend of £240 per week to help cover travel and subsistence. Accommodation is not provided as part of the programme, but assistance in organising this is available to those who need it.

If you have any questions please get in contact.

Best Wishes,

Dr Jenna Stevens-Smith
