Collins Learning, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, produces a wide range of titles in both digital and print format across geographical, language and education markets. Flagship titles
include The Times Comprehensive Atlas of World, Collins Greater London Street Atlas, The Collins English Dictionary and Collins Big Cat reading scheme.
We are currently looking for a Geo Information Specialist to join our Geo team based in Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow.
This team is responsible for the GIS databases that underpin our print cartography, and the digital cartographic data products we license, under the Collins Bartholomew brand, to high profile
customers around the world.
It is the team's responsibility to monitor and research global change, and use that information to edit our GIS databases. Alongside other team members, your role will be to ensure these databases
are kept up to date. You will ensure the required standards of accuracy and authority at all times.
You are likely to have studied geography or cartographer and have a keen interest in global geography and geopolitics. You will be at home in a ‘digital’ environment, and have some experience
using GIS software, particularly ArcGIS or QGIS. You will be able to perform effectively as part of a small team, have an enquiring mind, excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and a real passion for maintaining the quality and accuracy our
cartographic products are renowned for.
