Hi Suzanne, JCPCP is not open access. Access to the journal articles is ' old school' via a personal or institutional subscription. I'd like to put in a word for the publisher and the journal. PCCS (an independent mental health publisher which publishes Asylum Magazine, the 'Straight-Talking' series of books, the 'Critical Examination' series of books and many other critical publications as well as JCPCP. PCCS backs radically critical publishing projects which many other publishers would back away from. (PCCS web page: https://www.pccs-books.co.uk/ ) "The Journal of Critical Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapy (JCPCP) has something important to say about the dominant myths of psychiatry and psychology in these unenlightened times. The Editorial Board includes two winners of human rights awards in the world of psychiatry and psychology. Its contributors reflect all that is best in the voices of those who speak out about the state of modern psychology, counselling and psychotherapy — courage, commitment and a passion for reason. Authors write of daily struggles within the system, deconstruct the machinations of ‘Big Psy’ and bring a fierce spotlight to bear on the iniquities of theory and practice. JCPCP is recommended reading for students of psychology, counselling and psychotherapy, academics, independent thinkers in the Human Services and those who survive those services."(https://www.pccs-books.co.uk/products/personal-jcpcp-2014/ ) JCPCP is edited by Craig Newnes and its Editorial Board includes Sue Holland and Dorothy Rowe. To everyone: if you are in a position to recommend new journal subscriptions to a library, please recommend JCPCP to yours (if it does not already subscribe).
