Dear all,

The Mémoire, Cerveau & Cognition (MC2Lab, EA7536) laboratory at the Institute of Psychology of the University Paris Descartes is opening a 24 months post-doc position founded by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR-18-CE27-0023-02, SublimAE).

The goal of the project, at the border between philosophy and cognitive sciences, is to investigate the sublime experience using both music and virtual reality. Behavioural and physiological measures will be employed.

We are seeking for a young and motivated candidate with a Ph.D. in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related fields. Experience in signal processing, in particular autonomic responses (SCR, EKC, respiration), and in programming experiments is mandatory.

Advanced competences in statistical analysis and programming with R and Python, as well as familiarity with virtual reality programming tools (Unity) would be a plus.

An interest and a solid theoretical background in one or more of the following domains are strongly welcomed: Affective Neuroscience, Neuro-aesthetics, Self-representation (body-ownership, agency).

The laboratory disposes of several virtual reality systems, a system for physiological data recordings (BIOPAC MP150), and a 64-channels EEG system (BrainAmp).

The salary will be adjusted to his/her experience following the University guidelines.

To apply, please send a C.V., a motivation letter, and two academic references to Marco Sperduti ([log in to unmask]) and Pr. Pascale Piolino ([log in to unmask]).

Kind regards,

Marco Sperduti
