The DeustoTech Mobility Research Laboratory (http://goo.gl/FexrWt) from 
the University of Deusto (Bilbao, Spain) is looking for post-doc 
researchers in Artificial Intelligence. The positions are directed to 
promising young researchers and they are intended to offer a track 
towards a PI role and independent research. Applications from women are 
especially welcomed.

The selected post-doc researchers will be offered 5-year employment 
contract (including full social security). The annual gross salary is 
36.000€ (net income after taxes, social security and medical coverage is 
27.000€ approx). Researchers will also receive 10.000€ as a start-up 
funding for their research projects. Furthermore, there is also a moving 
allowance of 4000€ gross for researchers coming from research 
institutions outside of Spain, and 2000€ gross for researchers coming 
from Spanish institutions NOT located in the Basque Country. After the 
five-year period, the researcher can obtain a permanent position.

*AREAS OF INTEREST*

We are looking for post-doctoral researchers with a strong background in 
at least one of the next areas:

     - Machine learning
     - Deep learning
     - Data mining
     - Big Data
     - Metaheuristics
     - Evolutionary Algorithms

Researchers with experience in the application of any of the previous 
techniques in any of the following fields will be especially welcomed:

     - Intelligent Transportation Systems
     - Travel demand analysis
     - Traffic demand analysis
     - Logistic systems
     - Smart mobility
     - Autonomous driving

*REQUIREMENTS*

     - The applicants must have their PhD completed between 1 January 
2008 and 31 December 2016. This eligibility period might be extended 
under special circumstances such as maternity (18 months for each child) 
or long-term illness (documented amount of leave actually taken).
     - Applications from women are especially welcomed
     - Researchers who fulfil the Marie Sklodowska-Curie mobility rule 
are also especially welcomed: At the time of the relevant deadline for 
submission of proposals, researchers shall not have resided or carried 
out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 
months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date. 
Compulsory national service and/or short stays such as holidays are not 
taken into account.

*PROCEDURE AND DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS*

This call of the University of Deusto is framed in the context of the 
Ikerbasque Research Fellows Call 2019 (for more details: 
https://bit.ly/2RYVVQA). The selection of candidates will be done in two 
stages:

- First stage

     The applicants should forward their CV and at least two references 
to Antonio D. Masegosa ([log in to unmask]).

     THE DEADLINE FOR FIRST STAGE APPLICATIONS IS *FEBRUARY 18th, 2019*.

- Second stage

     Applicants from the first stage will be evaluated as their 
submissions are received and they will be contacted individually as soon 
as possible and no later than February 22nd, 2019. The selected 
candidates will be invited to submit their applications to the second 
stage, in which they should follow the guidelines given by the 
Ikerbasque Research Fellows Call 2019 (see next link: 
https://bit.ly/2DI4VRf). These candidates will be provided with an 
acceptance letter signed by the Vice-rector of the University of Deusto 
as the host institution and the PI of the DeustoTech Mobility Unit as 
the host group, which is required by Ikerbasque. This letter will also 
express the commitment of the University of Deusto of covering the 40% 
of the personnel costs in case the candidate is finally selected in this 
second stage. Apart from this, the DeustoTech Mobility Unit will support 
the candidate in the preparation of all the material required by the 
Ikerbasque Research Fellows Call 2019.
