** with apologies for cross-posting **

Dear colleagues,
For those of you grappling with the capture, representation and discoverability of arts research outputs via repositories (whether at large, multidisciplinary institutions, or small specialist ones), you may be interested in a forthcoming event (on Friday 15th March 2019, in London; details to be confirmed). The following appears in the "Latest Jisc open access update"<https://scholarlycommunications.jiscinvolve.org/wp/2018/12/19/december-open-access-update-and-seasons-greetings/>, under the "Community Events" heading:

We are working with representatives of the repository community and the Practice Research Advisory Group (PRAG)<https://prag-uk.org/> to run a joint event on "Documenting practice-based research: technicalities, practicalities and principles". Save the date for 15th March in London - booking details will be available in early new year.

In preparation for this event (and to inform it), the views of the repository and research support communities are being sought:

* what does current practice with arts outputs in repositories look like - at all institutions, not just at specialist institutions?

* what are the challenges to capturing and representing these outputs effectively via repositories?

* where might potential case studies be found?

o examples could include improving systems, engaging with this community of researchers, or individuals who are showcasing their work effectively

It would be really useful if you could either reply to this message (on or off-list), or add your thoughts to the bottom of the below Google doc, which was generated following an informal meeting at the Repository Fringe in Edinburgh<http://libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk/repofringe18/programme/> last summer:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1O8DOnjwYvRePhnTWjpcjab29zsfnvHPzhKLKWbUI53M/edit?usp=sharing<https://emea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fdocument%2Fd%2F1O8DOnjwYvRePhnTWjpcjab29zsfnvHPzhKLKWbUI53M%2Fedit%3Fusp%3Dsharing&data=02%7C01%7CN.Siminson%40gsa.ac.uk%7C553b79ae0bfc4ed2ae8f08d5fb7ce0b4%7C67f9795821514513bd2170cde632768b%7C0%7C0%7C636691436126998739&sdata=UvIsckqYhDuXQ9%2BVb8XsvjEVbF0ciUgTDlPFRiPlrMU%3D&reserved=0>

What isn't covered here? Does anyone have any other issues, or indeed any examples you can share of practice-based researchers using your repository (successfully or otherwise)?
A note of the repository and / or CRIS you use would also help towards gathering potential requirements for suppliers in future.

If you are able to add your comments to the Google doc by Friday 18th January, that will enable us to feed any responses in to a planning meeting for the above March event. Many thanks in advance!

With best wishes,

Nicola
