This workshop is designed to open the door to using appropriate statistics to analysis and report on your data. This workshop provides an initial introduction to key statistical principles and 'how to’ advice for starting to use statistical analysis software for evaluation for people with no or minimal training in statistics. In this workshop, you will be encouraged to bring your own data and computer to practice for yourself with support from the expert speakers.

The workshop covers the following topics:

• Introduction to key principles of statistical analysis

• Examples of statistical analysis for evaluation projects

• Basic introduction to the statistics software package SPSS (commercial product offered by IBM) - and the free equivalent, PSPP

• How to use SPSS to analyse your evaluation data using descriptive statistics

Bring your own evaluation data to work with, or if you don’t have any available you will be provided with an example dataset.
