Learning Transfer: Tips and Tools [TG4/Transfer]
24 January 2019
What we do in the training room matters, but what our trainees do afterwards matters more. This event will discuss learning transfer and take a look at case studies, personal
experience and how learning transfer can be applied in the workplace. Followed by a networking lunch.
Public Engagement in Libraries, Special Collections and Archives [TG3/Engagement]
30 January 2019
Libraries, Special Collections and Archives all work in a variety of ways to engage with their users and the wider public with their collections and archives. This event will look at how they have engaged with their users through special projects or helping
to make the archives more accessible to a wider audience.
Perspectives on library recruitment: Supporting diversity [TG4/Recruitment]
31 January 2019
This event aims to provide perspectives and provoke discussion and ideas around the issue of diversity in the library profession.
Moving into Management [TG4/MiM]
21 & 22 February 2019
Progressing into management is both exciting and daunting. This interesting and engaging two-day course will provide an insight as to what it means to be a manager. Attendees range
from those who want to know whether management is really for them to those who have just started out in a management role for the first time and are looking for an all-round basic introduction to the skills they will need.

You Want To Be A Subject Librarian? [ASPECTS1_SubLib]

In this event, both recently appointed and more experienced Subject Librarians will discuss their routes into Subject Librarianship and what they have learned along the way. They will discuss the key aspects of the role and provide advice for those who want
to take a similar path.
Gamification
in Teaching [ASPECTS2_Gamification]
7th February 2019 - 4:00pm -6:00pm
Games and other forms of playful learning have become increasingly popular in information literacy teaching. This introductory workshop will explore the value of using games to encourage engagement, interaction and reflection and share some practical examples
of how digital and analogue games have been developed and used in academic libraries.
Supervising
and Managing Staff [ASPECTS3_SuperMan]

Sooner or later in your career it is likely that you will have to supervise or manage other library staff. This workshop is aimed at people taking their first steps in staff management, or who are interested in doing so.

This event will provide an insight into the challenges of managing out of hours teams from two experienced library managers and will include examples of best practice for
use within the sector.

Directors use a range of approaches for planning. Regina Everitt, Director of Library and Learning Services at University of East London, will share her experiences and considerations
