Dear colleagues,

The online community for Archive Service Accreditation has some new members working on applications - and as it’s a fresh new year we’d like to get some discussion going. The team are therefore hosting an Ask Us Anything live online from 11.30-12.30 on Tuesday 12 February, in the community discussion forums: https://khub.net/group/archive-service-accreditation-participants. Come and ask us (pretty much) anything about how the programme works, how assessment happens, what makes a good application, what happens after an award, what’s worrying you about your application or review, how to use Accreditation as a framework for improvement or an advocacy tool… or anything else that’s on your mind.

There’s plenty of time to join the community beforehand. The community is locked rather than public, so you can use it to share experiences and queries with other Accreditation participants. Members can also make use of some more informal resources, including a Find Your Scalability beta, and some very open and honest case studies from previous applicants.

If you are in the process of planning or writing an Accreditation application or submitting a review of your Accredited status, and you have a number of questions about you own service’s specific situation, we can also arrange a telephone surgery – please contact us via [log in to unmask] if you have queries that you’d like to discuss offline.

If you haven’t already done so, please use the same address to alert us if you are an archive service in England planning to submit an application in 2019, so that we can be sure to have the resources ready to assess your application. If you’re planning a 2019 application in another home nation, details of how to contact your assessor body are at: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/archives-sector/archive-service-accreditation/applying-for-archive-service-accreditation/.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Melinda
