POSTDOCTORAL OPENING AT BROWN UNIVERSITY

A postdoctoral position will be available in the group of Prof. Lai-Sheng Wang at Brown University starting on July 1, 2019.  The projects are related to the investigation of size-selected clusters and cryogenically-cooled anions from electrospray ionization using photoelectron spectroscopy, high-resolution photoelectron imaging, and photodetachment spectroscopy. The following is a few selected recent publications:

Observation of Excited Quadrupole-Bound States in Cold Anions” (G. Z. Zhu, Y. Liu, and L. S. Wang), Phys. Rev. Lett. 119, 023002 (2017).

From Planar Boron Clusters to Borophenes and Metalloborophenes” (W. L. Li, X. Chen, T. Jian, T. T. Chen, J. Li, and L. S. Wang), Nat. Rev. Chem. 1, 0071 (2017).

Observation of Highly Stable and Symmetric Lanthanide Octa-Boron Inverse Sandwich Clusters” (W. L. Li, T. T. Chen, D. H. Xing, X. Chen, J. Li, and L. S. Wang), Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. (USA) 115, E6972-E6977 (2018).

“Probing the Interaction between the Encapsulated Water Molecule and the Fullerene Cages in H2O@C60 and H2O@C59N ” (G. Z. Zhu, Y. Liu, Y. Hashikawa, Q. F. Zhang, Y. Murata, and L. S. Wang), Chem. Sci. 9, 5666-5671 (2018).

Dipole-Bound Excited States and Resonant Photoelectron Imaging of Phenoxide and Thiophenoxide Anions” (G. Z. Zhu, C. H. Qian, and L. S. Wang), J. Chem. Phys. 149, 164301 (2018).

Probing the Coupling of A Dipole-Bound Electron with the Molecular Core” (J. Czekner, L. F. Cheung, G. S. Kocheril, and L. S. Wang), Chem. Sci. , (2018). DOI: 10.1039/c8sc04771e.

Candidates with good communication skills and experiences in cluster beams, lasers, high vacuum systems, cryogenically-cooled ion traps, or related fields should send CV and list of publications to Prof. Lai-Sheng Wang via email: [log in to unmask].
