Hi everyone,

I am very concerned about the rising use of FSE as a routine adjunct to all continuous monitoring in my local unit and am wondering what high quality evidence there is to support this method of CEFM. The leaflet informing women about this talks of benefits, but there is no mention of any risk.

As far as I have discovered research has shown that the use of FBS is reduced but no significant impact on CS rate. This is a massively invasive procedure for mum and baby, including one placed recently on an undiagnosed breech, leaving a soft tissue injury.

Thoughts, experiences and any advice in further information gathering much appreciated.
