Dear Colleagues

As a region Northern Ireland is planning to switch to the Fluoride Citrate Tubes for both OGTT and FPG requests.

If you have already made the switch can you please share with me directly your experience  in relation to the following:-

Did you switch for all Glucose requests  ( OGTT and FPG)?

Did  you retain standard fluoride ( NaF/ EDTA) tubes for lactates requests?  How do you manage the supply of standard tubes?

Have your Diabetologists  noticed an increase in referrals especially with gestational diabetes. How has this  been managed?

Where there any issues that you did not foresee?

I will post a summary of any responses.

Many thanks in anticipation

Kind regards

Derek
