Negar,

We changed to Roche enzymatic some years ago. IMHO everyone should be using enzymatic. If people want a decent CKD classification or AKI alert then they should use a decent method. Have some serious discussions with those that allocate the budget and the diagnostics suppliers to increase budgetary allocation and decrease cost. Folin adapted the Jaffe method for clinical use in 1901 and is probably the oldest method still used in the clinical laboratory today. Let us pay homage to those giants.....and move on.

Happy Christmas and happy holiday to all on the Mailbase. International networking at its best.

Hi all

I was wondering if any UK lab uses Roche enzymatic assay for creatinine measurement instead of Jaffe?

We are on Jaffe by Roche and wish to switch to enzymatic assay entirely. We still do enzymatic for icteric samples and paeds.

If you use Roche enzymatic I would appreciate your experience on the pros and cons of it when compared to Jaffe (e.g. cost, interference, etc..).

Many thanks
Negar
