Information about scholarships in the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies is available at https://ahc.leeds.ac.uk/languages-research-degrees/doc/scholarships-8. We would like to highlight the following funding opportunities:

• The Joseph Wright Scholarship funds one student wishing to undertake research degree study in English or German languages or literatures within the School of English or the Department of German. The award is open to UK/EU fee-rated students. It will cover the cost of academic fees and provide an annual maintenance grant of £12,000.
• Up to 48 Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Studentships are available through the White Rose College of Arts and Humanities (WRoCAH). If you are interested in one of these scholarships, you should contact a potential supervisor as soon as possible for advice. German at Leeds has been extremely successful in this WRoCAH competition in recent years.
  Our internal deadline for WRoCAH applications is 7 January 2019. By this time, an applicant should have informed the University of their intention to apply for the WRoCAH studentship, applied for a place to study in the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies and been issued with a student ID number.
• Leeds Doctoral Scholarships are available for UK/EU students commencing PhD study in October 2019. Each scholarship will cover the cost of academic fees and provide an annual maintenance grant (£14,777 in Session 2018/19).
• Leeds (International) Doctoral Scholarships are available for International students commencing PhD study in October 2019. Each scholarship will cover the cost of academic fees and provide an annual maintenance grant (£14,777 in Session 2018/19).
• The School of Languages, Cultures and Societies offers a three-year fully-funded PhD Studentship or one-year fully funded Masters by Research studentship within the School commencing October 2019. The award is open to UK/EU fee-rated students from a range of disciplinary backgrounds who will be supervised in any subject area within the School and who have an exceptional academic record in their studies so far as well as an excellent research proposal for either an MA by Research or a PhD.
