Dear All,
We are considering scanning some of our special collections, (rare pamphlets and books), and were wondering if anyone with experience of a similar project could comment/advise on the following:
i.	What devices would you recommend for scanning?
ii.	What related materials (e.g. book cradles) did you use to avoid damaging the books and materials?
iii.	Can you name any recognized best practice standards for scanning rare materials which would be a helpful guide?
iv.	Can you name the software which you use to view the scanned materials?
v.	What beneficial features does this software have and would you recommend it?
vi.	Is there anything else we should take into account when considering a digitization project?
Any advice and guidance would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Joy
