Information security is a topic of growing importance for all kinds of organisations and information professionals have a major role to play in effective information security. However information professionals also need to ensure that individuals can collaborate,
learn and perform effectively.
These requirements can come into conflict but we must find ways to resolve that conflict productively. In this session, we will explore:
- How the risks presented by information technology have changed this decade.
- What these risks means for information professionals.
- How information professionals can balance the need for security with the imperatives of collaboration and openness.
Peter Chapman is a forensic technology and electronic discovery specialist with over 18 years experience investigating computer related crime and cybersecurity incidents. Peter completing his PhD in 2016. He has worked in a variety of forensic and cyber-security
related roles for the NSW Police Computer Based Evidence section, PwC and Ferrier Hodgson. He also is a part-time lecturer at UTS and an advisory board member of Information Governance ANZ.
Stephen Byrne is a senior consultant with Step Two. He has expertise
in knowledge management, organisational psychology, technology. Stephen spends most of his work days consulting into organisations defining and then helping them untangle complex information problems - often centred on ‘the Digital Workplace’ and collaboration.
Leanne Fry is the Chief Innovation Officer and CIO at AUSTRAC,
and leads the Innovation, Information and Analytics teams. Her remit is to deliver advanced analytics and customer service platforms to enable AUSTRAC to innovate, working closely with industry and partners. She joined AUSTRAC in November 2015 to lead the
team delivering Fintel Alliance. Her experience ranges across multiple private and public sectors in digital services and delivery, governance, ICT, marketing and communications, business improvement and web science.
