On 13th December ALISS (Association of Librarians and Information Professionals in the Social Sciences) will be holding a half-day conference on promoting mental health and well-being among library users and staff.

The speakers will provide case studies of their methods and experiences. Delegates will have an opportunity to discuss the approaches, challenges and implications of making changes in their own library and information settings.

Exam Plus: A collaborative approach to promoting well-being at Keele

Assessment periods are often a stressful time for students and it is so important to ensure that they have an effective support network. As the Library is one of the few services open 24/7 on campus, it can often be the main point of contact for students feeling vulnerable.

This presentation aims to give insight into the Exam Plus initiative, from its initial proposal to the present day. It will highlight the successes and challenges of working as part of a cross-departmental team with particular focus on the impact for the Library.

Short night against procrastination

Kerstin Treder, Information Specialist, Aston University
