Dear friends, This has indeed been a busy few weeks in the South African courts. See attached another noteworthy decision where the High Court, by extensively relying on the work of one of the GNHRE's members, Prof. Anel du Plessis, clearly articulated the future-oriented public trust duty of government as "trustee of vulnerable environments" to protect the environment. See specifically para 11.11 towards the end of the decision. With best wishes, Louis Louis J.
