Dear all,

A half-day research symposium on Mendelian randomization methodology will take place in Cambridge at the MRC Biostatistics Unit in Cambridge on the morning of Wednesday 21st November 2018. Speakers will be Toby Johnson (GSK), Verena Zuber (Imperial), Frank Dudbridge (University of Leicester), Chris Foley (Cambridge), and Stephen Burgess (Cambridge). Registration will close on 13th November.

Timetable is as follows:

9.30 Session 1: Chris Foley (MRC Biostatistics Unit), "Fast and efficient co-localization for simultaneous assessment of shared genetic risk factors across numerous traits genome-wide"

10.10 Session 2: Toby Johnson (GSK), "Insights from finemapping and colocalization analyses for every disease-transcript-tissue triplet"

10.50 Tea

11.10 Session 3: Frank Dudbridge (University of Leicester), "Adjustment for index event bias in genome-wide association studies of subsequent events"

11.40 Session 4: Verena Zuber (Imperial), "Selecting causal risk factors from high-throughput experiments using multivariable Mendelian randomization"

12.10 Session 5: Stephen Burgess (MRC Biostatistics Unit), "Valid causal inferences with many invalid instrumental variables via contamination mixture modelling"
