Apologies for cross posting. The Education Data and Insight Team at the University of Bristol has an exciting opportunity for an experienced data practitioner to join as one of our Deputy Education Information Managers. This will be on a 2 year fixed term basis initially. If you have experience of data visualisation, and are enthusiastic about working with databases to deliver reporting requirements and further insights, then this could be the ideal role for you. The individual will lead one of the sub teams within the wider team. The primary focus of this particular team will be support for our TEF submission, delivery of dashboards to support education process and improvements and monthly financial reports on fees and FTEs. You will need proven ability to analyse big data and find useful insight within it. You will also need to be able to present this information to a variety of people at all levels within the Institution. This includes writing papers for committees where necessary. You will also help drive forward the use of data visualisation within the wider team. During this 2 years, you will also work with the Education Information Manager to move forward the Universities Leaning Analytics capabilities. We are seeking a highly numerate and analytical individual who, ideally, will have an understanding of the HE sector or a similar service environment. You will ideally have line management experience, although this is not essential. You will need to have excellent attention to detail. You will need good SQL skills - either MS Access or MS SQL based. Experience of Microsoft SSRS and SSIS would also be extremely useful.
