Hi everyone,

On a related note to Mel's Mapping UK University Library Archives and Special Collections holding Comics and Comic Art, the below came through from the research funding team at my work - could it possibly be relevant for saving any comics archives under threat?

'Endangered archives programme – rapid response grants

British Library, GB and other funders

The British Library, via the Arcadia Fund invites applications for its rapid response grants, under its endangered archives programme. These enable safeguarding an archive that is in immediate and severe danger. The aim is to support humanities and social science research world-wide by identifying, preserving and making accessible endangered archival collections before they are lost forever. The grants are targeted at situations where the time required for the standard application and award process could result in extensive damage to the material.
Applicants must be based in a recognised non-commercial institution, such as a university, research institution, library or archive in the UK or overseas. Eligible HEI applicants include accredited members of teaching and research faculty and registered postgraduate researchers. PhD candidates will be considered in exceptional circumstances. Current employees of the British Library are not eligible.
Grants are worth up to £15,000 each over one year.
Deadline

Round 15 Closing Date: 19 November 2018 (midday GMT)'

All the best,
Maggie
