Dear Sport Study Group members,

I'd really appreciate it if you might distribute the following via your networks...

We are currently conducting a project on the inclusion of disabled children and young people in PE, part of which is an online survey for PE teachers to tell us about their experiences of their initial teacher training. If you know of any qualified PE teachers we would really appreciate it if you could pass the following onto them:

Study Title:
An investigation into the inclusion of disabled children and young people in Physical Education in England

What’s the study about?
The DCMS (Dept. for Culture Media and Sport) claim that the 2012 Paralympic Games has improved equality for disabled people in the UK. Yet it has been recognized that many barriers persist for disabled people who want to participate in physical activity. The aim of this study is to investigate the suitability of initial teacher training (ITT) for the inclusion of disabled children and young people in Physical Education (PE) in England (at both primary and secondary levels).

What does taking part involve?
We would like qualified PE teachers to answer a short online survey about their experiences of ITT and teaching: https://teesside.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/an-investigation-into-the-inclusion-of-disabled-children-a-2. The survey should take around 5 minutes to complete. At the end of the survey, participants are asked if they would like to be interviewed as part of the study. The survey remains open online until 3 December 2018.
