Hello
A bit late to the party but Holtorf and Piccini - Contemporary Archaeologies: Excavating Now should definitely be on the list if it isn't already.
Cheers

Subject: Introduction to Contemporary Archaeology - reading suggestions

Hi

I am putting together a short course for 2nd Year archaeology students. The aim is to encourage the students to carry out a small contemporary archaeology research project over a period of 10 weeks. It is not aimed to be a magisterial overview of all facets of the subject, rather a short fun practical introduction which will hopefully encourage them to take the study of contemporary archaeology further in Year 3.

Given this- what do people think are the key introductory texts? I'm interested in suggestions for practical methodological material as well as conceptual and theoretical discussions.

cheers

David
