Hello A bit late to the party but Holtorf and Piccini - Contemporary Archaeologies: Excavating Now should definitely be on the list if it isn't already. The aim is to encourage the students to carry out a small contemporary archaeology research project over a period of 10 weeks. It is not aimed to be a magisterial overview of all facets of the subject, rather a short fun practical introduction which will hopefully encourage them to take the study of contemporary archaeology further in Year 3. Given this- what do people think are the key introductory texts? I'm interested in suggestions for practical methodological material as well as conceptual and theoretical discussions. cheers David -------------------------- contemp-hist-arch is a list for news and events in contemporary and historical archaeology, and for announcements relating to the CHAT conference group. ------- For email subscription options see: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/archives/contemp-hist-arch.html ------- Visit the CHAT website for more information and for future meeting dates: http://www.contemp-hist-arch.ac.uk -------------------------- -------------------------- contemp-hist-arch is a list for news and events in contemporary and historical archaeology, and for announcements relating to the CHAT conference group. ------- For email subscription options see: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/archives/contemp-hist-arch.html ------- Visit the CHAT website for more information and for future meeting dates: http://www.contemp-hist-arch.ac.uk --------------------------
