Hi Aejaz,

I have tried the Emego and it is in my opinion quite a useful piece of kit. The student I mention has an ABI that makes muscle control quite "noisy"
as far as EMG is concerned. The Emego visualisation software is excellent at tuning out the background noise and the precursor, post activation muscle actions.

That said, latency remains the issue. The effort of triggering a single muscle movement on demand is such that when my student is concentrating on this task he takes so long it renders communication at a higher level practically impossible (at this stage).

The sheer effort of initiating a controlled and sustainable physical movement is a major barrier to his and other students capacity to participate.

There are a number of individuals who would benefit greatly in an educational setting from a means of capturing intent without requiring a muscle or movement based action.
