Dear colleague
Advance HE<https://www.advance-he.ac.uk/> Senior Fellow writing retreat events - 2018-19

Advance HE<https://www.advance-he.ac.uk/> organises events for prospective applicants looking to gain HEA Fellowship across disciplines, themes, specialisms and levels of experience.

Our Fellowship events<https://www.heacademy.ac.uk/training-events#section-5> range from conferences on the UK Professional Standards Framework<https://www.heacademy.ac.uk/recognition-accreditation/uk-professional-standards-framework-ukpsf> for professionalising HE teaching to continuing professional development courses differentiated by discipline or teaching career stage at institutional level.

Advance HE invites you to participate in a structured writing day to develop your Senior Fellow application. Our writing retreats are designed for colleagues with a sustained track record of experience in influencing, leading and supporting others in higher education. Each event provides time and space to think, discuss and reflect on your professional practice, away from your busy day-to-day working lives.

The key aims of each event are to:

  * enable you to engage in critical reflection about your professional practice in higher education
  * understand the criteria for what is needed to become a Senior Fellow
  * provide opportunities to share issues and discuss experiences with colleagues in relation your Senior Fellowship
  * facilitate space and time to progress your thinking and draft your narrative

Each event will include briefings, group sessions as well as one-to-one advice and guidance with experienced Advance HE staff. We will adopt a flexible agenda and work in response to your needs.

As part of the event fee, participants will have access to resources and materials such as annotated exemplar applications, excerpts, learning and teaching literature and the option to have a draft of their application reviewed with personalised feedback.
