Hello Ms Jones

Re: Social media companies and the Government have failed disabled people

https://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/petitions-committee/news-parliament-2017/online-abuse-recommendation-report-published-17-19/

I note with interest this concern by the Petitions Committee regarding the online abuse of disabled people.

I trust that during your discussions in Committee you highlight the fact that the 213% dramatic increase in prosecuted disability hate crimes coincided with the rhetoric of the coalition government and, in particular, by Iain Duncan Smith when Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.

All actions have reactions, and if a UK government spend almost six years blaming those least able to defend themselves for the austerity measures adopted by the Government without ethical approval, then there was always going to be human consequences.

Having studied the influence of corporate America with UK social policies for the past ten years, the attached will give you and your Committee colleagues more information as to the ongoing atrocities impacting on chronically ill and disabled people, created by a UK government influenced by corporate America since 1992.

There are almost three million chronically ill and disabled people who now live in fear of the DWP, and many wonder why there’s a Justice Committee when a UK government can adopt social policies which were guaranteed to create death, despair and preventable harm.

And, let’s not forget, that an NHS statistics report identified that in one year almost 50% of ESA claimants had attempted suicide, yet no-one thought to share that devastating statistic until the critically acclaimed journalist John Pring, the Editor of the Disability News Service, exposed this reality.

The online abuse the Petitions Committee is it seems concerned about is just another atrocity in a long line of atrocities that those in greatest need now tolerate in a right-wing, dangerous, neoliberal profit motivated country whose close links to America have created this shameful situation for many.

I trust this information is helpful for the Committee, plus other Committees copied into this email, who continue to do nothing to abort the ongoing identified atrocities against the sick and disabled community created by the UK government with very little difficulty.

Please feel free to contact me should you wish to discuss this matter further.
