The deadline to register for ‘Books, Readers, and Reading’ the Leeds Library’s
250th
Anniversary conference has been extended to this Friday 14 September.

Day rates are £65 per day (Thurs/Fri) or £35 (Sat).
Full registration (3-day rate Thurs 20th
- Sat 22nd Sep) costs £150 for postgraduate students.
Full registration for all other delegates costs £160.
The conference features over 80 speakers from 13 countries who will be presenting papers on a diverse range of subjects including: libraries, the history of reading and readers, literary forms and
genres, the future of the book and the library, the history of books and the material production and the culture of the book.
The keynote speakers are:
Professor Kate Flint (University of Southern California):
‘Composing, Reading, and Decomposing the Victorian Book of Nature’.
Professor Ian Gadd (Bath Spa University)
‘The Ambient Book’.
Professor N. Katherine Hayles (Duke University):
‘The Future of Writing in the Digital Age’.
