Dear Colleagues,

A gentle reminder that the online survey regarding a new digital delivery platform is open until 5pm on Friday 7th September. For those that have completed the survey, many thanks; for those yet to complete, it will be useful to gain as many perspectives as possible, it takes no more than ten minutes of your time and it may well be worth your while. The link to the survey is here:

Dear Colleagues

I wanted to introduce myself and my current work to you. I worked for more than sixteen years at The National Archives in Kew and am a highly qualified professional in commercial archival licensing and digitisation. I have over ten years specialist project management experience of online archival collections, having been responsible for all commercial partner digitisation and partnership management at The National Archives between 2010 and 2017. I have in-depth commercial expertise and an extensive knowledge and understanding of publishing archival collections online, supporting the diverse needs of collections, stakeholders and the public.

I am currently conducting a feasibility study on behalf of a client to gauge market interest in a new digital archive delivery platform service. My client has for some time used their award-winning platform to publish their own archive projects for scholarly study and research and is now evaluating whether to extend the use of the platform to others - enabling libraries, archives and special collections to publish their own digitised collections using a cloud-based solution. As such, my client wishes to determine whether archives, including both public and private sector archives, corporate/businesses archives, schools and university archives and organisations with heritage artefacts would benefit from, and be interested in, finding out more about this highly usable and flexible digital archive delivery platform.

From initial conversations with heritage sector professionals there does seem to be interest in this new platform so we have developed a survey to help us determine the level of interest in this new digital delivery platform and to help further develop the service.

The survey should take no more than ten minutes of your time and all responses will be treated in confidence. The survey is best completed in one sitting. The survey closes on 7th September.

If you have any questions regarding the survey or the service which is on offer, please do get in touch.

Very best wishes, Gary Thorpe
