Subject: New curatorial opportunity from Art Fund
To: Paolo Viscardi <[log in to unmask]>

Dear Paolo,

I hope this finds you well. As our main contact for NatSCA I wanted to let
you know about a new funding programme we have just launched, *Headley
Fellowships with Art Fund*.

It’s part of our ongoing initiative to encourage the development of UK
collections expertise, and intends to give curators – especially those
based in smaller or regional museums – the time and resource to work with
focused areas of their collections, deepening expertise within their museum
and sharing specialist knowledge both with the public and across the
sector. I hope you can circulate this information to your network to make
sure they are aware of this exciting new opportunity.

The programme is open to mid-career and senior curators, and those with
curatorial responsibility, and practically will give curators time away
from their day-to-day responsibilities to embark on a bespoke period of
research and development. Headley Fellowships with Art Fund aim to
encourage the production of ambitious and high-quality museum projects
which have collections at their core, while investing in museums across the
UK and their curators, helping them to realise exceptional ideas for
communicating with a spectrum of audiences. We’re particularly excited to
be able to offer this opportunity to curators working with *any kind* of
museum collection, from fine art and social history to archaeology and
natural history.

Full details on the aims and scope of the scheme can be found at
https://www.artfund.org/headley. Applications are open now with a deadline
of 15 October.

We’re incredibly excited about this programme and the opportunity it offers
for curators and their museums, and I would be grateful if you could help
us spread the word. If you would like to share details of the opportunity
on Twitter, we are using the hashtag #HeadleyFellowships, and I have shared
some example tweets at the end of this email. I also attach an image which
can be used.

If you or a colleague would like to talk more about this programme please
don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.

Best wishes,

Emma
