We are seeking a full time Research Assistant for the BabyMEG Lab at Boston Children's Hospital, MA, USA. The Research Assistant will work with the Principal Investigator and the other members of the BabyMEG team with the whole head pediatric atomic magnetometer system. Responsibilities of this position include recruitment and scheduling of research participants/patients for studies, preparing the lab for electrophysiological (human) recordings, helping with data collection, data organization, data pre-processing/analysis, ordering supplies and equipment for the lab, and maintaining the day-to-day operations of the lab. The Research Assistant will also be responsible for preparing and organizing documentation for the studies and laboratory (e.g. brochures, family education sheets, study record sheets etc.). This position also requires helping the team members to submit protocols, amendments, notices, suspensions and terminations to the Institutional Review Board for review and approval.

BabyMEG Program: The aim of the BabyMEG program is to learn more about normal brain growth in newborns and children up to 4 years of age. This program can also give new insights to patients with neurological disorders.

Basic Requirements:

  *   Bachelor's (BA/BSc) or Master's degree (MA, MSc) in computer science, electrical or biomedical engineering (Master's degree is preferred).
  *   Excellent statistical and computer programming (including LabView, MATLAB, C++, Python) skills and experience.
  *   Organizational skills, must be self-motivated, resourceful, able to multi-task and prioritize.
  *   Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  *   Ability to work well in teams, and interpersonal skills (both with families/participants and the research team members).
  *   Complete fluency in English is required since there will be frequent interactions with the family members as well as children during recording sessions.

Optional Requirements:

  *   Experience in working with young children.
  *   Experience in working in a research environment.
  *   Experience with human electrophysiological data collection.
  *   Experience with EEG/MEG analysis
