Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing (I.F. 0.869)

Special Issue on
Wireless Technologies in Smart and Green
Transportation for SmarCities
(https://www.hindawi.com/journals/wcmc/si/752978/cfp/)

CALL FOR PAPERS

Over half of the world’s population is nowadays living in urban areas. Experts forecast that in the coming years it will increase by another 2.5 billion people, due to the continuous urbanization and the growth of the population. This fast global urban population rise leads to an (often) uncontrolled growth of cities and the services they provide, steering towards inefficient road transport, traffic congestion, higher pollution levels, and stress for citizens.

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) exploit information and communication technologies to make transport safer, more efficient, and more sustainable but can also deliver solutions for enhancing our daily lives by applying information and communication technologies. ITS can help cities so that the growth does not mean a reduction of livability, making cities  friendlier through new integrated public transport or pedestrian-friendly zones.

This special issue encourages high quality and original works as well as review articles that show the added value of wireless communication technologies in the topic of smart and sustainable communication technologies and their applications for Intelligent Transportation Systems.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Smart wireless communication networks for ITS
- Cooperative wireless communications in ITS
- Mobile computing in ITS
- Sustainable wireless network in ITS
- Ad hoc networks in smart urban mobility
- Optimization techniques for networks in ITS
- Machine learning techniques for mobile ad hoc networks in ITS
- Integration of ITS and Internet of Things (IoT)

Authors can submit their manuscripts through the Manuscript Tracking System at https://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/wcmc/sgtc/.

Papers are published upon acceptance, regardless of the Special Issue publication date.
