"the contingency of one poet reading another" (Zukofsky) a "catastrophe" (Williams) "is of course, the rage" (Stevens). My impression of it, sorry

One thing I like about that poem is that I can't really see it happening in any other art, not without dissolving it into conceptualism etc., anyway. So I painted a picture so great that everyone else is scared to pain for a while...

Where can I get a copy of this masterpiece? along with any guides or supplementary reading necessary, I mean.

All the best,
Luke

Just a thought about The UK Poets list

Reading the “another list trouble” thread I noticed The UK Poets list is mentioned a few times. The list is now closed down. I tried to join it a few years ago but was told that it was by invitation only that new members could join. That was a bit off, I thought. Later I got to know someone on the list and I asked him what his experience of it was, and he said that the topics discussions were quite boring and very specialised ie you had to be an academic to keep pace with them. He also said that many of its members used to hero worship the poet Kester Sutherland, and that few would argue with him as he was seen as being a fount of all knowledge. Due probably to his then “success” with that awful poem he wrote about the Iraq war and it being seen as equal to The Waste Land or something.

My friend left the list shortly before it closed down. Was any one here on that list?
