Yes, I think this is a very good idea too. Also while we have a string of freelancers in this thread, I’ll take the opportunity to ask if anyone has some interesting stories of work they have been involved in or stories of the general trials and tribulations of being a Freelance Cultural Heritage Photographer that they might like to share at this year’s conference? I remember Antonia did a talk a couple of years back which I thoroughly enjoyed. We still have a couple of places left for speakers and I think this would be an interesting and potentially amusing subject……ClaireOn 17 Aug 2018, at 20:32, Michael Hall <[log in to unmask]> wrote:Me tooSent from my red appleI'm interested in this too.Regards, Henrietta________________________________

Sent from my iPhoneSounds like a good idea. I’ll have a look at the SIG framework that you linked to...

Sent from my iPhoneDear All,I've had an idea for a while now that the large group of freelancers who are AHFAP members, might like to consider setting up an AHFAP Special Interest Group.
I have been a freelancer in the past and I think that freelancers could have a lot to learn from each other, not just in terms of gear, but tax and financial issues would clearly be topics for discussion. I have a good working knowledge of AHFAP SIGs and how they operate, it's nothing onerous and is easy to start, it just needs a small group of members to start it. Meetings can be held anywhere and limited help and resources may be requested from the Committee if there is a good case.
The framework for SIGs can be found here.
It's just an idea I have meant to get of my chest for a while now, it is my personal opinion and the view on AHFAP help and resources may not be the view of the current committee.
