Hi Andi,

The Earth Sciences Department of Cambridge University has recently put on an opera about the Barrington Hippo and a musical about dinosaurs, which can be read about in this blog: https://blog.esc.cam.ac.uk/?p=1076

Best wishes,

Matthew Kemp

Hi Andi,

A group called Impropera have a project called Muso that has used improv opera to communicate science. The last one I went to included improvised opera pieces on snake mating and volcano pyroclastic flow! Here's their website: http://www.impropera.co.uk/muso.html.

Best,

Sophie

Hi Andi,

Have you looked at the ERC / Science squared site - https://www.sciencesquared.eu/

They have lots of research on music per se by ‘music scientists’ but also I’m thinking there are examples of sci comms using music to convey other concepts.

Best regards,

Tim in Brussels.

Dear all

(Usual apologies for the multiple JISC Mail cross postings!)

Does anyone have experience of / know of examples of either PE or sci comms work that has used music as a medium to help people engage with a scientific or technical concept; that in of itself is not related to music?

Any publicly available examples you can direct me to would be most appreciated.

Best

Andi
