Immediate opening: Research Fellow/ PhD positions in Computational and Applied Materials Science (CAMS) Group within the Attosecond and Strong Field Science Division at ELI-ALPS, Hungary
Forefront areas of research, in close collaboration with experimentalists:
(i) Ultrafast electronic processes, charge/spin excitations, dynamics at surface, nanostructures.
(ii) Molecules, low-dimensional materials under intense laser field: control of laser-matter interaction.
(iii) Nonlinear response, excited states dynamics and high harmonic generations from molecules and nanostructures.
The position is immediately available. Application deadline: 5th August, 2018. The successful candidate will use computational methodologies and time-dependent density functional theory, to work on above mentioned areas.
The potential candidate’s profile:
Background
in computations, possibly using density functional and time dependent
density functional theory, and/or coding through Fortran/ Python/
C++/Mathematica/ Matlab. A solid academic foundation in quantum mechanics,solid state
physics, optics and photonics related field expected.
Eligible applicants:
1. For Research Fellows:
Researchers with doctoral degree or submitted PhD thesis in relevant research field.
2. For Early Stage Researchers:
University students who have recently completed their last year of an MSc Programme in relevant specialization field.
PhD students who recently completed or are working in relevant research fields.
During the employment the early stage researchers will have the opportunity to enroll to a PhD program and work for a PhD degree.
